The
Northern California Chapter of SAMPE was founded in founded in 1961 and has been
one of the leading chapters of the Society for the Advancement of Material
and Process Engineering headquartered in
The Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE ¨), an international professional member society, provides information on new materials and processing technology either via technical forums, journal publications, or books in which professionals in this field can exchange ideas and air their views. As the only technical society encompassing all fields of endeavor in materials and processes, SAMPE provides a unique and valuable forum for scientists, engineers, and academicians.
Material and Process Engineering is the technology by which materials are developed or selected and manufacturing processes chosen which will convert those materials into products which meet the design, performance, producibility, quality, and cost effectivity criteria required.
The Northern California Chapter sponsors monthly
technical meetings or plant tours starting in September and running through
May. For over 25 years NorCal SAMPE has sponsored a all-day Composites
Workshop in January. The NorCal SAMPE chapter in cooperation with the Santa
Clara Valley Chapter of ASMI also awards annual scholarships to students at
The NorCal SAMPE chapter has about 20 sponsors, many of whom exhibit their services and products at our annual Composites Workshop in January. Contact information for each sponsor is available on the Chapter Sponsors link at the top of the page.
The Chapter has established a Yahoo group email list with over 300 persons that allows the chapter to send out 1-2 emails per month as reminders of chapter events. You may subscribe to this list by sending an email to norcal-sampe-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
